Childbirth Education prepares and empowers prospective parents for the labor and birth of their child. Whether the birth is scheduled to happen at home, in a hospital, or at a birth center, and whether or not the choice is made to use medical intervention, receiving a thorough birth education during pregnancy can teach parents how to make informed decisions about their birth and the care of their baby. This class includes information on the stages and signs of labor, nutrition, relaxation techniques, comfort measures used in labor and birth, pushing, cesarean birth, common medical interventions, newborn baby screening tests, baby care and breastfeeding. This course is taught by Hannah Halliwell and Katrina Nelson, ICCE who have combined their collective birth and postpartum experiences and training to create this interesting and engaging class experience.
This Childbirth Education series began on June 12. Please email us for day/times of the next series.
