Childbirth Education prepares and empowers prospective parents for the labor and birth of their child. Whether the birth is scheduled to happen at home, in a hospital, or at a birth center, and whether or not the choice is made to use medical intervention, receiving a thorough birth education during pregnancy can teach parents how to make informed decisions about their birth and the care of their baby. This class includes information on the stages and signs of labor, nutrition, relaxation techniques, comfort measures used in labor and birth, pushing, cesarean birth, common medical interventions, newborn baby screening tests, and postpartum care. This course is taught by Hannah Halliwell who brings both her experience and love of working with families in birth and postpartum for the last decade together to create this interesting and engaging class experience.
